Introduction

Whether stewarding, caring for babies or rigging the marquees, being on team at Revive is an important job – we wouldn’t be able to run the event otherwise.

If you choose to volunteer at Revive you’ll have an even more rewarding experience, making new friends and serving the Lord in a powerful way. It will be hard work at points – every person counts at Revive – but you’ll be blessed in the process.

Have a look through some of the roles and the application process and have a think about how you might be able to make Revive happen in 2017.

ˆRoles working with children

1-2yrs – Noah’s Ark
3-4yrs – Rainbow Club
Part-time – four hours every morning (plus setup and set-down at the beginning and end of the week)
Each worker will have particular responsibility for a small group of children as part of the larger group. Activities include:
· Telling stories, playing games, helping with craftwork
· Nappy-changing and feeding (particularly in Noah’s Ark)
· Helping with daily Bible times
Requirements:
Just bring plenty of energy and enthusiasm! All facilities and activities supplied.

5-10yrs – Toffee and Salty Popcorn
Full-time – eight hours per day
This is a fun-packed, spiritually-dynamic programme running each morning and evening.
Requirements:
You will need to love children and have an enthusiasm to help them experience all that God has in store for them.

11-14yrs – Jesus Generation
Full-time – eight hours per day
Jesus Generation is a brilliant opportunity to work alongside this generation’s history-makers! Mornings comprise a mix of crazy, fast-paced games and competitions with interactive Bible study and different small-group workshops. The evenings are a chance to seek the presence of Jesus with powerful times of worship and ministry. If you want to be involved in equipping the young people to go home and make a big impact for Christ then this is the team for you.
Requirements:
A servant heart and desire to see young people meet with Jesus. Experience in youth work would be beneficial.

15-17yrs – Spirit Anointed Servants (SAS)
Full-time – eight hours per day
SAS is an action-packed week of Bible teaching, lifestyle discussion, worship and practically serving the site by car washing, foot washing and other servant-hearted acts. There are also great workshops on some afternoons and a chance to get involved with sports competitions.
Requirements:
Dynamic, self-motivated people with experience of working with youth and who enjoy working in teams. Must be flexible, hardworking, reliable and willing to go the extra mile.

ˆChild protection policy

Every child and young person is important to God, created in his image. Each is a vital part of the community of Ichthus Christian Fellowship and we want to provide a safe environment, which encourages their growth in Christ and facilitates their ministry to the whole body.

Ichthus Christian Fellowship has a detailed child protection policy which will be available for all those working with children and young people at Revive, and to all team leaders. If you will not be working with children, but would like to have a copy, please ask your team leader during the event or email revive@ichthus.org.uk beforehand.

ICF needs a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check for everyone working with children and young people at Revive.

If you have applied to work with children and young people, the necessary forms will be sent to you once your application to work at Revive has been provisionally approved by the appropriate team leader (unless you have already been checked by ICF within the last three years, in which case you do not need to be checked again).

Your application to work with children or young people will not be fully approved until we have received satisfactory results of the DBS check.

ˆRoles helping to run the event

Stewarding
Full-time – eight hours per day
Probably the most varied role, stewarding involves anything from welcoming people into venues or giving directions to monitoring the car park. Your job is to make sure guests are cared for – a great way to meet people and be a core part of the Revive experience.
Requirements:
You must be over 18, have good physical fitness, a servant heart, enjoy working as part of a team and have a cheerful, enthusiastic manner. A current Ichthus DBS check would be advantageous.

Café Ash
Part-time – four hours
Café Ash is an entertainment hub, and a great place for people to unwind and relax at the end of the day. The role involves preparation and serving of light refreshments, clearing tables and generally being engaging and hospitable.
Requirements:

A friendly disposition and a willingness to help out in whatever way is needed. Some catering experience would be beneficial.

Site team
Full-time – eight hours per day
Revive couldn’t go ahead without the hardworking, practically-minded team that sets up and maintains the event.
As well as working during the week, some team members come a few days early to help with setup, or stay on at the end to pack down. Please ask about this when applying.
Requirements:
Applicants should be over 18, physically fit and able to lift heavy objects. Carpentry, plumbing or electrical skills would be advantageous, but not essential.

Technical team
Full-time – 8 hours per day
Revive relies on a wide range of technical equipment, including sound systems, lighting, video and computer projection.
We need people with experience and also those who would like to learn and develop skills during the week. In addition to operating systems at Revive, your help would be needed setting up and clearing away the event.
Requirements:
An aptitude for technical equipment and a willingness to serve.

Shop
Full-time – 8 hours per day
The Revive Shop is s a busy hub for everyone looking for tasty snacks, refreshing drinks or campers’ everyday essentials. For many guests it is the perfect place to stock up on essentials for breakfast, lunch and dinner meals. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to serve the entire event with a friendly and satisfying shopping experience.
Requirements:

A friendly disposition and a willingness to serve customers will be just as important as being willing to handle stock and to remain calm when it gets busy. A good knowledge of basic maths will be beneficial!

ˆThe application process

You can fill out an online volunteering application form when you book in for Revive (keep an eye out for the volunteering section), or get in touch with the office and we’ll send you paper forms to fill in.

As well as filling out the form, you will need to send us a photo of yourself for your ID card (instructions on the form) and if volunteering for the first time we will need church leader and personal references.

Once we have received your application and references, we will send them to the relevant team leader. We will let you know whether you have been successful in your application as soon as we can. It is likely that some teams may become oversubscribed – in this case we will contact you to discuss alternative opportunities.

Every applicant will be given the opportunity to self-disclose any previous criminal history. This  information will be held in the strictest of confidence and you will be contacted separately to provide this information, rather than being ask to provide it on the general staff application form.

*You may also have to fill in a DBS form – a member of the admin team will contact you if this is the case. All children’s and youth workers will require valid DBS checks at Revive.

ˆConcessions for volunteers

Full-time
Meals provided (breakfast, lunch & dinner)
£142 discount on accommodation

Part-time (Noah’s Ark & Rainbow Club)
Meals provided (breakfast, lunch & dinner)
£71 discount on accommodation

*Please note that you need to opt in to staff meals, otherwise we will assume you are making your own catering arrangements. No additional discount can be offered if you choose not to take up meals.

If the discount amounts to more than your own booking (ie single camper at £121 gets a discount of £142), then you can apply the surplus to an immediate relative on the same booking.

Working part-time as a job share
If you would like to work on a team which is full-time, but you can’t commit to eight hours per day, you could volunteer as a job share. This option is at the discretion of each team leader, as two part-time volunteers would be sharing a full-time role. You would get a £71 discount on your accommodation and one meal voucher per day for the food court (ie no meals in the house).

Additional meals
Volunteers can pay for immediate family (husband/wife/children) only to eat meals with them.  Each full-time working adult will be able to book one additional non-working adult for a subsidised rate of £100. Additional adults will be £120 each.

Prices for the week are:
Adult (18+): £120 per person
Youth (16-17): £100 per person
Child (5-15): £50 per person
Infant (0-4): Free*

*Please note that Ashburnham is not able to provide baby food

Charges for family members’ meals will be added to your Revive booking and you will be billed accordingly. Volunteers booked into the house will eat meals with their team members.
