[003]Chapter 2-3 ()

Test Preacher, April 19, 1987
Part of the Lamentations series, preached at a Right Through the Bible service

While Lamentations 1 focuses on the desolation in Jerusalem caused by the Babylonians, chapter two highlights the 'wrath of God'. Signs of God's anger are 1) loss of power, 2) lack of restraint of the enemy, 3) destruction of the impure. The two objects of anger - empty religion and false prophets. In chapter three hope rises after looking back to God's covenanted love, which will be embodied in Jesus. (56 mins)
