The Ichthus Leaders conference 2024 is Ichthus’ specific gathering for the many people who lead accross the 10 congregations and the Ichthus Movement. Pressing into God together in this focused way, at the start of each year, is essential to keep us moving forward together under the anointing of Jesus.
2022 and 2023’s conference forged spiritual agreements in our life together that have been so fruitful during the last couple of years: we have seen growth in number as people re-gather after Covid with a fresh hunger and passion for evangelism. The seeds of his kingdom are freshly sown into our lives when we get together for this conference, and when we set our faces to genuinely listen to his voice together.
In 2022 & 2023, thanks to a generous gift we were able to subsidise the cost for children and youth to attend the conference. For the 2024 Leaders Conference we have decided not to offer children and youth provision. This is partly due to finances and partly due to us outgrowing the venue (swimming pool etc). We also hope this will enable the adults time to engage and respond more fully. We understand this causes childcare challenges and not all parents will be able to attend. We are seeking God in how best to bless parents who are in leadership in 2024.
2024 – The Year of Jubilee!
This year we celebrate 50 years since Roger & Faith Forster planted Ichthus, in 1974. We are taking this opportunity to focus in on one of our ‘signature’ verses, and to journey through it during all our conferences throughout the year:
“the Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set free those who are oppressed,
To proclaim the favourable year of the lord.” (Luke 4:18-19 / Isaiah 61:1-2)
We are approaching this Scripture through the ‘lens’ of hearing Jesus’ voice, the same voice that read this Isaiah 61 passage out in the synagogue and when he sat down, everyone’s eyes were ‘fixed on him’ in amazement. Join us as we explore how this same voice of Jesus is still speaking to us today, and the anointing that was upon Him and is upon us today as his body. Let’s fix our eyes on him and receive the prophetic calling to be freedom-bringers, gospel preachers and channels of God’s healing power into this world.
For this Ichthus Leaders Conference, we are exploring the idea of His Kingdom Voice: a Kingdom where people are healed, people recover sight, and are set free! And it’s a Kingdom where Jesus is King!
We will also be focusing on Psalm 29 as we spend our whole year seeking to ‘Hear His Voice’:
The voice of the Lord is upon the waters;
The God of glory thunders,
The Lord is over many waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful,
The voice of the Lord is majestic. (Psalm 29:3-4)
His voice is both powerful and majestic, healing and challenging us, and also bringing deep peace and comfort to us (Psalm 29:11).
This event is by invitation only. Please discuss with your congregation leader if you are interested in attending.
Guest Speaker Rob Scott-Cooke
We are delighted to welcome Rob Scott-Cook from Woodlands Church in Bristol to share his heart and passion for reaching cities with the good news of Jesus. Rob is an inspiring man of prayer who has been a strong part of the prayer support for our wonderful Roger and Faith for decades. He shares the same ‘DNA’ as Ichthus and is close to us in heart and vision.
