The Ichthus movement exists to evangelise London and the nations by planting churches of Christ-exalting,

Bible-loving believers committed to the Lord Jesus, to His mission and to one another.

Our mandate for evangelism comes from the Great Commission of Jesus in Matthew 28, to go into all the world and make disciples of all the nations.

Our inspiration comes from Acts 2, where the early followers of Jesus were filled with the Holy Spirit and poured out into the streets, preaching the word and performing miraculous signs.

We want to encourage the church in the priority in sharing the good news of Jesus everywhere to everyone under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

John Wesley said “You have nothing to do but to save souls. Therefore spend and be spent in this work.”

Sharing Jesus in varied and creative ways is a crucial part of congregational life in Ichthus. We have such good news and we want the people in our communities to have the opportunity to hear the Gospel. We know that Jesus changes lives and we believe everyone deserves the chance to experience this good news.

Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost, to restore man to God the Father through His redeeming work on the Cross and so we aim to live our lives evangelistically, making the most of opportunities found in everyday life. We share the good news as a local expression of Christ’s body, and we come together to proclaim the good news, and we do it by the means of words, works and wonders.
.

Across Ichthus we are involved in sharing Jesus and serving in our communities through our congregations in a variety of ways, such as:

  •  Alpha Courses
  • Youth clubs
  • Homeless and community food projects
  • Schools work
  • Prayer for healing on the streets
  • Church on the Street
  • Coffee mornings

As followers of Jesus, we want our lives to provoke questions in those around us that will lead people to seek a life changing relationship with Jesus.

Apart from our congregational life, there are regular opportunities for people from across the congregations to take part in outreach activities through our Easter March, Christmas truck outreach and the Summer Project which takes place in early July.   It’s an amazing opportunity to be equipped and to draw inspiration from Ichthus Leaders in theology and practical teaching in evangelism.
