In the first session looking at 1 John, Roger looks at how John's epistles relate to his gospel. In chapters one and two we see how John is addressing two heretical schools - the Judaisers and the Gnostics, both of whom misuse John's gospel (especially chapters 13-17). We look at the introduction and focus on Jesus as wisdom and as word, and John reveals God as light and love. Roger finishes by looking at the spirit of the antichrist and concept of adoption.
