An overview of the book of Joel, one of the pre-exilic minor prophets. Joel ('the Lord is God') uses images of locusts and drought to prophesy about the coming 'day of the Lord'. Joel also famously predicts the sending of the Holy Spirit at pentecost, when 'your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions' (Joel 2:28).
