Series: Micah
The book of Micah reads like a commentary on his own name – ‘Who is like the Lord?’ Contemporary with Isaiah, Hosea and Amos (Jeremiah 26:18), Micah has been called the Amos of the southern kingdom. Heavy on social justice, Micah contrasts looming judgment with the hope of salvation and depicts the Lord as a shepherd leading his people. The book’s centrepiece is the prophecy of the future messiah coming from Bethlehem and establishing his kingdom (5:1-5a). (52 mins)
